Joel's first pediatrician appointment

We took Joel to see Dr. Foldvary today for his first doctor's appointment. It was supposed to be tomorrow, but they called this morning and asked us to come this afternoon. They did a physical exam and said that he is very healthy and that he does show some "advanced development" given his prematurity. Yeah!!!! AND....he weighs 5 pounds, 9 1/2 ounces! I thought he was looking bigger! We don't have to go back for another month, and his immunizations should start after that. The doctor was quite impressed with his development and we were surely happy about that! Plus, the doctor told us to try to use some gas drops to make him more comfortable at night in hopes of getting him to relax and sleep more. We ran right out and bought those, let me tell you! After the appointment we stopped briefly at my old office and at Rob's office to show him off a little bit. Unfortunately the wait at the doctor's office and the other stops put his schedule off for eating and he has been pretty cranky since then. Hopefully the drops will help. He's crying now, so it's Mommy to the rescue! More later! Good night all!
